Looking for some advice upstairs bathroom is chipboard floor.
Chipboard flooring adhesive.
Unlike plywood the edges.
Since chipboard is engineered the expansion and shrinkage of chipboard remain consistent.
Floor needs to be level as there s a traditional rad that has legs and 2 units going in and you will notice it.
I planned to hardiebacker then tile but the floor is out 20mm one way and 12mm the other way.
If chipboard flooring is glued correctly then you won t experience any wobbling or creaking as the floor ages.
Plus it can be fixed with any screw nail or adhesive.
For an even better and longer lasting job when i lay chipboard fooring i always pva glue the joints and use a bead of flexible glue like sikaflex adhesive on the joist to ensure there are no squeaks you need to fix later once the floor boards are screwed down tight on to the joists.
One thing we got wrong when building the barn 5yrs ago was that we didnt glue the chipboard flooring on the first floor.
D4 adhesive is used for bonding the panels to the joist and within the tongue and groove joint as well as for sealing nail heads and adjacent areas.
On a surface with lots of movement this super adhesive will do its job and cling to the floor unfortunately your tiles will develop cracks due to the movement.
The reason we warn about floors with excessive movement is the simple fact that tiles don t flex.
Tongue and groove chipboard is a type of particle board made up of sawdust and resin.
It is used like plywood as a subfloor beneath tile hardwood and laminate flooring.
Egger d4 chipboard flooring adhesive 1kg.
